Gulmi landslide: 6 dies (Latest update)


Gulmi: The number of people killed in a landslide last night has reached five. The victims have demanded that the helicopter be sent for rescue after the house was burnt. Two persons have been killed in the landslide in Gulmi's Satyawati VDC-1, Thulolumpek and Ward number-3, Limgha.  5 houses is covered with landslides. Dozens of homes have been damaged. Due to the landslide, the village is crumbling. The mode of transport was not reached. Locals have demanded that the government send a helicopter for liberation.
Local ward member Arjun Taramu said the road was blocked to take the injured to the hospital for treatment. "The place where the incident took place is three minutes away from where I was staying," he said, complaining over the telephone, "I have removed the local elderly from the house and placed them under a tree." Due to the lack of transport, the helicopter needed information.
Tilkumari taramu of age 30 yearse and Darshan tarami of age 10 years from ward-3 Thulolumpek has been killed in the accident. Likewise, 65 year-old Chhallali BK, 28 year-old Pampha BK, 12-year-old Anjali BK, 10-year-old Hemanta BK of Limgha of Ward No. 4 died. Local 10-year-old Karisma Taramu and 13-year-old rich Taramu were injured, police said. Satyawati village lies in the remote areas of Gulmi. Locals said that the incident took place at around 3 pm last night.
